Welcome to Dragonfly Lodge
Our story is rooted on the rugged, breathtaking northern shores of Lake Superior in Northern Ontario. For generations, this special place was known to our family as Rector's Reef — a sanctuary of endless summer days, crackling campfires, and cherished lakeside memories. It was the place where time slowed down and family always came first.
Our world changed completely when we lost both of my parents to cancer within just six months of each other. Inheriting the family cottage in the midst of such profound grief, we knew we wanted to honour their legacy through a renewal of spirit. We renamed our sanctuary Dragonfly Lodge, inspired by two unforgettable moments of hope and transformation. While pregnant with our first son, a single dragonfly landed gently on my stomach, bringing a sudden, quiet peace. Years later, while pregnant with our second son right here at the lake, the skies above us literally filled with hundreds of swirling dragonflies. To us, the dragonfly became a beautiful, undeniable symbol of resilience, family bonds, and new beginnings.
We founded this store to share a piece of that cozy, wild Northern Ontario magic with you. We are launching with a curated collection of fun, rustic apparel designed for long days by the water and chilly nights by the fire. As we grow, Dragonfly Lodge will expand into home goods and other products, all carrying that same spirit of comfort and lakeside nostalgia.
